My Artist Color of the Season: Golden Ochre
Dec 31, 2025

Goldenrod
16x20 Matted Canvas Print
This size with matte is perfect for framing!
Each season I find myself drawn to a color that seems to surface again and again in my work—a hue that quietly shapes the stories I tell on canvas. In 2022, that color was Golden Ochre.
The original painting was sold, but the canvas prints are a close second.
It’s the color of wildflowers blooming under a crescent moon, the glow of candlelight in a sacred space, and the memory of sunlight on ancient stones. Golden Ochre is the thread that ties together my love of the mystical, the natural, and the divine. It reminds me that even in the darkest woods, there is always a glimmer of warmth and hope.
Golden Ochre is a color that brings the outside in because so many wildflowers grow in the sun and display this beautiful color. Yellows bring excitement and inspire the heart to explore the energy in the sun-soaked land.
The small size of this canvas print works well in niches and corners where you just need a charge of color and mood, Goldenrod evokes the mood of late summer nights, and draws you into a peaceful mystery. In winter, it brings a memory of warmth and the stillness of the night.
